48th Edition of WSOP to Kick Off on May 30th

The World Series of Poker (WSOP), which is currently considered as the longest running and most prestigious tournament series in the history of poker, revealed some of its dates throughout 2017, with May 30th marking the start of the 48th edition of the tournament. The 2017 World Series of Poker is to kick off at the Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas.

The schedule is to include various satellites, cash games, gold bracelet events, as well as deep stack tournaments that are planned to run three times a day. The WSOP is to run for 49 consecutive days. Its Main Event’s final table is to be played on July 17th, 2017.

The Executive Director of the WSOP Ty Stewart explained in a press release that the organisers of the World Series of Poker were busy trying to finalise the tournament’s schedule for the upcoming year. Mr. Stewart revealed there would be great resemblance between last year’s schedule and the one that is to be rolled out in 2017, with a few new additions and changes. He said that the organisers would take care of offering a large variety of options to meet the expectations of every potential participant in the 48th edition of the WSOP.

A number of events such as the Monster Stack, Millionaire Maker, Seniors Event, Ladies Championship and Little One for ONE DROP have been brought back on the 2017 schedule. In addition, the largest live poker event on a global scale – Colossos III – is to be included in the 2017 WSOP schedule. It will be a three-day re-entry No Limit Hold’em tournament featuring a buy-in of $565 that is to kick off on June 2nd and end on June 4th. The event has managed to gather a total of 43,987 entries over its first two years.

The first event in the series will be the Casino Employees event that is to start on May 31st. The tournament will be a No Limit Hold’em one, with a $565 Buy-in. The Seriors Event will start on June 16th. It will be a single re-entry option event with a $1,000 buy-in.

The Main Event Championship is one of the most-expected and long-awaited events in the schedule of the WSOP. In 2017, the tournament’s Main Event is to start on July 8th and will last for 10 consecutive days, ending on July 17th. The Main Event will be a No-Limit Hold’em game with a buy-in amounting to $10,000.
